"orgen... is an exquisite piece of art... full of subtle nuances and gorgeous intertwining guitars that can't fail to please the ear." - the laughing world magazine
"slow, staggering drums sway through bright melodic guitar on their way to a strange strummed climax... they have a remarkably contemplative quality that you can't wring out of a distortion pedal, and an envious group dynamic. orgen is an impressive debut." - revolver magazine
"the band sound as if they've harnessed the skill of subtlety and use minor changes in melody or tempo to deliver their message. recorded with tony dupe... the album sounds warm and personal and is sure to sneak onto a few 'best of' lists come years end." - oz music project
"... a mellow, almost entirely instrumental composition, in the vein of a scaled back Godspeed! You Black Emperor..." - rockus.com.au
son of burlington ep
the son of burlington ep was a limited edition demo cd released by founder in april 2001. it was recorded by neil love (then known as neil aitken).
son of burlington featured the first six songs we ever wrote, including the crowd favourites happy cycling and cat eat machine.
there are only a few copies of son of burlington left in the world. we have some of them. let us know if you would like to purchase one - they're very cheap now and will be worth even less later.
